LIGHT UP YOUR HOLIDAYS

christmas lightsAfter spending over 60 hours researching Christmas lights, interviewing experts, and testing 20 strands of lights side by side, we’ve found that GE’s Energy Smart Colorite LED Miniature Lights (available in multicolor strands of 50 bulbs or 100 bulbs and in warm white strands of 50 bulbs or 100 bulbs) are the best all-around indoor Christmas lights. This is the third year we’ve named these GE lights as our pick, and we can’t find any lights that match their color quality and their ready availability at Home Depot.

The early success of the program has prompted the developer to expand the collection effort until December 15th. For more information or directions to Maple Fields, please call 914-461-9208 or visit http://www.maple-fields.com.

“There is something magical about waking up on Christmas morning when you are a child and seeing all of those presents under the tree,” says Elizabeth Bauer, Director of Sales and Marketing for Baker Residential. “Unfortunately, not every child gets to experience that joy. That’s why we’re proud to once again support Toys for Tots in its mission to put smiles on the faces of less fortunate children who would have otherwise missed out on this holiday tradition.”

Since its inception in 1947, Toys for Tots has been collecting new toys during the months of October, November and December which are then distributed to needy children in their respective communities.

Actors & Writers: “What You’ve Brought” by David Smilow

actors-and-writers-470x313-300x200December 10th at Unison Arts Center

Actors & Writers(A&W), Unison’s theatre-troupe-in-residence, is a 22-member company of film, TV, and theater professionals, all of whom reside, at least part-time, in Ulster County.

This evening A&W will present a new work written and presented by David Smilow and other members of A&W.

Imagine an Antiques Roadshow episode originating as much from the Twilight Zone as a local town, and you’ve got some idea of what’s in store with ” What You’ve Brought”, a new work by David Smilow.  Join Actors & Writers as they rummage through a trove of eclectic objects, oddball owners, and the bizarre tales linking them. This will be an evening that proves yet again, people show up with the strangest stuff. And we’re not just talking about antiques.

Sponsored by: This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers through public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
