I don’t know about you, but I’m always so excited at the prospects of a blank canvas floor plan, until I actually have to start making decisions on where to put everything. I start questioning everything! Is my rug the right size? Should my sofa go against the wall or float in the room? Do my nightstands have to match? Before I know it, I’m completely paralyzed by the whole situation and need my trusted design friends to rush over and help ease me into the right decisions. I rationalize my indecisiveness to the fact that space planning and room layouts are so crucial to the overall vibe a home puts forth.

Stone Wave Yoga

stonewave-2565e4b7Created by Liz Glover Wilson, Artist and Yoga Instructor and Keith Buesing, Landscape Designer and Topiary Artist – Stone Wave Yoga and Wellness Retreat Center opened in June 2017 and offers a space for everyone.

Stone Wave facility is located just 1.7 miles from the Hamlet of Gardiner and 4 miles from Mohonk Preserve’s visitor center. They offer two yoga studios, an art studio (www.sunflowerartstudios.community), a changing room, shower facilities, a full kitchen and fresh mountain air.

Classes and events will be offered for all levels and various types of yoga, families, kids and private groups.

Facilities are also available for retreats, private sessions, and special events.

Perseids: Summer Meteor Shower Peak Weekend in the Hudson Valley

The Annual Perseid Meteor ShowerThe always anticipated Perseids meteor shower began July 17 as Earth passed through the path of the Comet Swift-Tuttle, but the shower known for its blazing bright meteors won’t peak until Aug. 12. If your eyes have feasted on any meteors already, they could be part of the Delta Aquarids meteor shower, which started last week and continues through Aug. 13.

Westchester Amateur Astronomers, a nonprofit group, has scheduled its next Starway to Heaven Star Party at the Meadow Parking Lot,Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, for Aug. 18, weather permitting.
